Veganism Supports Human Rights: Veganism Helps Humans in Many Ways

· Vegan

As a vegan, I do not eat chickens (or their eggs), nor do I eat humans.

Today’s post is inspired by a meme by vigilante_vegan which reads:

“When people say, “You should care about humans as much as you do animals!” [shrugs] I’m like, “Well I do… I don’t eat humans either.”

Humor aside, veganism actually helps humans in many ways, such as ~

~ high percentages of Blacks, Native Americans, Asians, and Latinos are lactose-intolerant, thus veganism is better for their health;

~ animal proteins cause illnesses in all races of human bodies (i.e., cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and more) — a healthy vegan diet can prevent and even reverse many diseases;

~ animal agriculture pollutes the land, air, and water, and increases greenhouse gases related to climate change which is causing deadly heat waves, fires, floods, and so on — veganism helps the environment and saves lives;

~ slaughterhouse workers suffer from mental illness and they are more likely to commit suicide or engage in domestic violence — it is not natural or healthy to kill living beings for so many hours per day/week/year.

This is just a few of the ways in which veganism supports human rights.
