Vegans don’t eat ducks. In fact, vegans don’t eat any birds. Society and the media glorify eating birds for the holidays, using terms like “festive” to describe the cooked flesh of slaughtered geese, ducks, and turkeys.
Vegans know that all birds are sentient beings who feel pain when they and their loved ones are murdered. Thus, vegans choose to create peaceful holiday meals from cruelty-free ingredients, such as these amazing recipes by Forks Over Knives: "2021 Vegan Holiday Recipes.”
In that recipes link, there are vegan appetizers, soups, salads, mains, sides, and desserts. For each category, you scroll sideways, and you click on the ones you want, and then once you’ve created your whole menu, you click on the button that says “Email my menu”… Isn’t that so super cool! 👏
If you are already vegan and you will be sharing holiday meals with non-vegans, check out this helpful post shared by Farm Sanctuary: “10 Tips for Surviving Family Holiday Meals as a Vegan.”
That article was written by Brenda Sanders, a food justice activist who works to bring healthy food to low-income communities in Baltimore City. She is the founder and president of Afro-Vegan Society, and she is featured in the new very important documentary film, They’re Trying to Kill Us. (More on that film soon.)
If you are not yet vegan, please check out the recipes in the link above, and please watch that film.
Let’s all go vegan and let the ducks (and all the animals) live in happiness and freedom! ✨♥️🔥♥️✨
