Recently I watched this incredibly sweet documentary film that is appropriate for viewers of all ages. Featuring Jeffrey Masson, author of When Elephants Weep: The Emotional Lives of Animals, the 52-minute film focuses on the thinking and feeling side of the animals who are farmed for food. I will share the link to watch the film at the end of this post…
In the film I learned that Masson went vegan in 2004, the year he published The Pig Who Sang to the Moon: The Emotional World of Farm Animals. Since then he has become a dedicated animal rights activist and in 2019 he published The Secret World of Farm Animals. I am very much looking forward to reading these two books, because I am feeling ever more passionate about speaking out for the innocent, defenseless farm animals who are suffering through horrific, miserable lives.
The film shows Masson visiting the lucky animals in sanctuaries. Animal sanctuaries give people the opportunity to meet animals. Here is a website, by Animal Place, that lists the animals sanctuaries in the United States: Sanctuaries.
If you cannot visit an animal sanctuary, this film for all ages is a beautiful way to experience the animals and to learn just how much they feel emotions. I hope you enjoy the film, and if you are not yet vegan, I hope this film inspires you to go vegan!
