The World Wildlife Fund is leading a global effort to stop wildlife crime. In their “I am not a rug” campaign, they explain: "Every part of the tiger—from whisker to tail—is traded in illegal wildlife markets. Poaching is the most immediate threat to wild tigers. In relentless demand, their parts are used for traditional medicine, folk remedies, and increasingly as a status symbol in some Asian cultures."
I learned about that campaign from a sign in an airport, in 2015. I snapped this photo of the sign:

On that information page, it says that a tiger can consume more than 80 pounds of meat at one time. Well, at this stage of evolution, tigers do have to eat meat… but, humans do *not* have to eat meat. In fact, humans are actually much healthier without animal protein.
Tigers are not rugs, and animals are not healthy foods.
